The USAF HH-60G # 92-6466 crash on 15 Mar 2018 serving during Operation Inherent Resolve, callsign Jolly 51, assigned to 332d Air Expeditionary Wing (AEW), and operating within the USCENTCOM area of responsibility, 18 miles southeast of al-Qaim, Iraq, western Anbar province, crashed due to a wire strike.
Those killed were Capt. Andreas B O’Keeffe, Capt. Christopher Tripp Zanetis, Sgt. Dashan J Briggs and Sgt. Christopher J Raguso, all assigned to the New York ANG’s 106th Rescue Wing (RQW)/101st RQS at Francis Gabreski International Airport; Capt Mark K Webber assigned to the 23d Wing/347th Operations Group/38th RQS at Moody AFB, GA; MSgt. William R Posch and SSgt. Carl P Enis, both assigned to the 920th RQW/308th RQS, AFRC, at Patrick AFB, FL.
101st RESCUE SQUADRON
The 101st Rescue Squadron assigned to 106th Operations Group, 106th Rescue Wing stationed at Francis S. Gabreski ANGB, NY, maintains, supports and operates the HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter conducting day or night personnel recovery operations in hostile environments to recover isolated personnel during war, civil search and rescue, medical evacuation, disaster response, humanitarian assistance, security cooperation/aviation advisory, NASA space flight support, and rescue command and control.
