Joint Task Force Support Forces Antarctica, (Operation Deep Freeze), a joint service, inter-agency support for the National Science Foundation (NSF), which manages the United States Antarctic Program (USAP) and provides logistics and support which oversees the activities of USAF, ANG, USAFR, USN, and USCG personnel who participate in the USAP.
The USAF element is the 304th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, operating C-17 Globemaster III from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, delivers personnel and cargo to McMurdo Station, Antarctica.
