Lineage. Constituted as 731 Air Materiel Squadron on 4 Apr 1945. Activated on 13 Jun 1945. Inactivated on 7 Nov 1945. Disbanded on 8 Oct 1948. Reconstituted and redesignated as 731 Munitions Support Squadron, and activated, on 1 Aug 1996. Inactivated on 20 Jun 2001. Redesignated as 731 Munitions Squadron on 17 Jul 2009. Activated on 31 Jul 2009-.

Operations. Provides ready and reliable munitions via road, rail, and sea in support of Combatant Command and NATO allies. The four flights within the unit are the commander’s support section, materiel, systems and production and the unit has its own aerospace ground equipment and vehicle maintenance facilities and accompanying personnel.
