65th LOGISTICS READINESS SQUADRON (USAFE)

Lineage. Constituted as 65 Supply Squadron on 26 May 1952. Activated in the Reserve on 14 Jun 1952. Inactivated on 1 Apr 1953. Consolidated (1 Jan 1992) with the 1605 Supply Squadron, which was designated, and organized, on 8 Jan 1967. Redesignated as: 65 Supply Squadron on 27 Jan 1992; 65 Logistics Readiness Squadron on 1 Jan 2003.

Assignments. 65 Maintenance and Supply Group, 14 Jan 1952-1 Apr 1953. 1605 Air Base Wing, 6 Jan 1967; 1605 Military Airlift Support Wing, 1 Jan 1982; 65 Logistics Group, 27 Jan 1992; 65 Mission Support Group, 30 Sep 2002-.

Stations. Mitchel AFB, NY, 14 Jun 1952-1 Apr 1953. Lajes Field (later, Lajes AB; Lajes Field), Azores, 8 Jan 1967-.

Operations. Provides logistics organization, combining planning, supply and transportation skills into one organization, under one commander, with all the resources to keep pace with the swift demands of deployment, employment, and sustainment support requirements.
