Lineage. Established as Air Mobility Command Tanker Airlift Control Center on 25 Feb 1992. Activated on 1 Apr 1992. Redesignated as: 618 Tanker Airlift Control Center on 1 Apr 2007; 618 Air and Space Operations Center (Tanker Airlift Control Center) on 30 Aug 2010; 618 Air Operations Center (Tanker Airlift Control Center) on 1 Nov 2014.

The 618th AOC (TACC) plans, schedules and directs a fleet of nearly 1,100 mobility aircraft in support of combat delivery and strategic airlift, air refueling and aeromedical evacuation operations around the world. Command and Control Rapid Global Mobility by transforming requirements into effective missions-plan, task, execute, and assess global air mobility operations.
