Lineage. Constituted as the 58 Organizational Maintenance Squadron on 28 Aug 1969 and activated on 15 Oct 1969. Redesignated 58 Aircraft Generation Squadron on 15 Aug 1977. Inactivated on 1 Oct 1991. Redesignated 58 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron on 15 Jul 2002-.

Assignments. 58 Tactical Fighter Training (later, 58 Tactical Training Wing), 15 Oct 1969 to 1 Oct 1991. 58 Maintenance Group, 18 Jul 2002-.

Operations. Responsible for producing mission-ready special operations forces and personnel recovery aircraft for student aircrew flight training, performs full range of flight line maintenance to include on-equipment repair, inspection, service, launch and recovery supporting the Annual Flying Hour Programs for covering 3 mission specialized aircraft types consisting of the CV-22 and HC/MC-130J.
