Operations. Performed combat search and rescue missions during WW-II. Served as part of the occupation forces at Kadena AB, Okinawa until 1950. Providing escort coverage with its SB-29s for bombers based in Okinawa striking targets in North Korea as well as precautionary coverage for fighter and reconnaissance aircraft making overwater flights. Defend and protect missile launch facilities.  Improve mission effectiveness and standardize helicopter operations at all missile wings throughout 20th Air Force.
