Redesignated as: 4 Air Support Communication Squadron on 11 Jan 1943; 4 Air Support Control Squadron on 20 Aug 1943; 4 Tactical Air Communications Squadron on 1 Apr 1944. Inactivated on 5 Jun 1947. Disbanded on 8 Oct 1948. Reconstituted, and consolidated (8 Feb 1988) with the 601 Air Support Operations Group, which was established as the 601 Air Support Operations Center Group on 8 Mar 1984. Activated on 15 Mar 1984. Redesignated as: 601 Air Support Operations Group on 1 May 1985; 4 Air Support Operations Group on 1 Mar 1988. Inactivated on 1 Jul 1994. Activated on 1 Aug 1996.
