492nd SPECIAL OPERATIONS TRAINING GROUP (AFSOC)

The 492d Special Operations Training Group – Air Commando Development Center-Provisional, (ACDC-P) assigned to 492d Special Operations Wing stationed at Hurlburt Field, FL, consists of:

492d SOTRG Det 1 is based at Duke Field, FL and is responsible for the training and formal education of AFSOC Forces in multiple mission sets to include, Airland, Airdrop, Night Vision Goggle infiltration and exfiltration, Non-standard aviation program, Intelligence Surveillance, and Reconnaissance and Adaptive Precision Strike programs in support of Combat Aviation Advisors. Det 1 is the formal training unit for the C-145A Skytruck, C-146A Wolfhound, and the AC-208 Caravan, flown by 4 active duty and reserve squadrons based at Duke Field, FL.

492d SOTRG Det 2 is home to AFSOC’s most advanced MC-130J aircraft. The 492 SOTRG Det 2 is based at Hurlburt Field, FL and is responsible for implementing USSOCOM’s latest capabilities on AFSOC’s most versatile aircraft, while also standing up its newest formal training program for SOF aviators.

The ACDC-P is comprised of the USAF Special Operations School, 371st Special Operations Combat Training Squadron and 370th Special Operations Combat Training Squadron.

The center will execute development for all personnel assigned to AFSOC, core-SOF and non-core SOF AFSCs, as well as direct specialized combat training in the appropriate Force Generation phase to enable preparation in addition to certification, verification, and validation prior to deployment.

Additionally, the ACDC-P will be a direct report unit to the Air Force Special Operations Command commander.
