Activated on 1 Oct 2009. Redesignated as 42 Cyberspace Operations Squadron on 12 Aug 2016.

Operations. Cyberspace Protection Team, provides a specialized capability to defend key terrain and prioritized missions against exploitation and cyber attack by operators employing the Cyberspace Vulnerability Assessment/Hunter weapon system, which includes a suite of security tools tailored to the defensive cyber operations mission.
