315th AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SQUADRON (AFRC)

Lineage. Constituted as 315 Organizational Maintenance Squadron on 18 Jun 1976. Activated in the Reserve on 1 Jul 1976. Redesignated as: 315 Aircraft Generation Squadron on 1 Aug 1990; 315 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron on 1 Oct 2002.

Assignments. 315 Military (later, 315 Airlift) Wing, 1 Jul 1976; 315 Logistics Group, 1 Aug 1992; 315 Operations Group, 1 Oct 1993; 315 Logistics (later, 315 Maintenance) Group, 1 Apr 1995-.

Stations. Charleston AFB, SC, 1 Jul 1976-.

Operations. Maintain the C-17A Globemaster III aircraft and provide trained personnel to augment and support the 437th Airlift Wing in time of war or national emergency in addition to maintaining aircraft in support of US airlift requirements.
