255th AIR CONTROL SQUADRON
The 255th Air Control Squadron assigned to 172d Operations Group, 172d Airlift Wing stationed at Gulfport Combat Readiness Center, MS, provides an operationally ready Control and Reporting Center (CRC) in support of theatre air operations worldwide which performs the first level execution of air battle for the Joint Forces Air Component Commander, transmit the combined operational picture via tactical data link to the Air Operations Center, direct sector/regional air defense, supervise subordinate deployed air control units, perform identification and surveillance of airborne objects, and provide radar service to high priority tactical aircraft.
