23^d MAINTENANCE GROUP

The 23^d Maintenance Group assigned to 23^d Wing stationed at Moody AFB, GA, is responsible for the operation and quality of organization and intermediate-level maintenance and repair supporting a combat-ready HC-130, HH-60 and A-10 wing and a maintenance training program and ensures the work force qualification and capability for worldwide development of personnel and cargo.

The maintenance group also supports the 93^d Air Ground Operations Wing.

The 23^d Maintenance Operations Flight and six additional squadrons are aligned under the 23^d MXG to support the group’s mission.

 

23^d Maintenance Operations Flight

The 23^d Maintenance Operations Flight provides command and control, aircraft and engine scheduling, analysis, training, innovation, and programs and resources needed to support the 23^d MXG’s sortie production efforts for A-10C, HC-130J, and HH-60W aircraft. The 23^d MOF manages the 23^d Wing’s flying hour program, long-range fleet health, and maintenance priorities by analyzing data provided by the Maintenance Management Analysis, Engine Management, Maintenance Operations Center, Quality Assurance, Training, Weapons Standardization, and Plans, Scheduling & Documentation sections. Additionally, the 23^d MOF develops and publishes the wing’s operations and maintenance schedule and ensures aircraft are properly reported and maintained by evaluating and presenting trend analysis information to group and squadron commanders.

23^d Munitions Squadron

The 23^d Munitions Squadron is responsible for maintenance and arming of the weapons systems of Moody Air Force Base’s various missions. Comprised of both weapons and ammo Airmen, the squadron enables the combat capability of all the 23^d Wing and tenant units. The 23^d MUNS warriors provide direct support to the A-10C Thunderbolt II, HH-60W, HC-130J, and all Battlefield Airmen of Moody AFB.

23^d Maintenance Squadron

The 23^d Maintenance Squadron has a diverse footprint at Moody AFB, providing support to A-10Cs, HH-60W, and HC-130J aircraft. It is comprised of five flights: Accessories, Aerospace Ground Equipment, Fabrication, Propulsion, and Maintenance Flights. Their current mission is to ensure combat readiness to deploy aircraft, equipment, and personnel in support of all generation squadrons assigned to Moody AFB. They also have an aircraft crash and recovery team available 24/7 to cover the region’s response efforts in the event of aircraft incidents.

41^st Rescue Generation Squadron

The 41^st Rescue Generation Squadron is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and direction of preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance while performing inspections, servicing, and launch and recovery actions to maintain mission-ready status of the HH-60W Jolly Green II combat search and rescue aircraft. The 41^st RGS personnel also rapidly generate, mobilize, deploy, and employ forces to provide combat and peacetime search and rescue operations in support of U.S. national security interests.

 

71^st Rescue Generation Squadron

The 71^st Rescue Generation Squadron is responsible for the planning and execution of preventive scheduled and unscheduled maintenance while inspecting, servicing, and generating mission-ready HC-130J Combat King II aircraft. Additionally, the 71^st RGS rapidly generates, mobilizes, deploys and employ forces to provide combat and peacetime search and rescue operations in support of U.S. national security interests, often working alongside sister services and international partners.

74^th Fighter Generation Squadron

The 74^th Fighter Generation Squadron is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions for 24, A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft in support of the 23^d Wing’s annual flying hour program and 74^th Fighter Squadron requirements. The unit performs inspections, servicing, and launch and recovery actions necessary to maintain mission-readiness. The 74^th FGS provides an autonomous, deployable, combat-oriented maintenance organization dedicated to the generation of combat-ready airpower in support of the 74th Fighter Squadron mission taskings; ready to meet any challenge, anytime, anywhere.

75^th Fighter Generation Squadron

The 75^th Fighter Generation Squadron is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions for 24, A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft in support of the 23^d Wing’s annual flying hour program and 75^th Fighter Squadron requirements. The unit performs inspections, servicing and launch and recovery actions necessary to maintain mission-readiness. 75th FGS maintenance personnel rapidly generate, mobilize, deploy and employ forces providing both combat and peacetime operations in support of U.S. national security interests.
