Lineage. Constituted as 19 Air Support Operations Squadron on 24 Jun 1994. Activated on 1 Jul 1994.

Operations. The 19thASOS integrates airpower into the US Army 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) ground commander’s scheme of maneuver by maintaining an alert posture to deploy with short notice for contingency operations. The squadron performs day/night operations at division, brigade, and battalion levels to provide on-scene air planning expertise, command and control, and integration into the USAF Theater Air Control System. The squadron controls employment of combat aircraft flown by all services in support of over 20,000 troops.
