166th LOGISTICS READINESS SQUADRON
The 166th Logistics Readiness Squadron assigned to 166th Mission Support Group, 166th Airlift Wing stationed at New Castle ANGB, DE, provides logistics support to the wing, performing air and space expeditionary force readiness and expeditionary combat support planning through war reserve material management, deployment and reception planning, training and execution.
The squadron maintains the wing’s chemical warfare defense equipment and the arms storage and issue facility, and provides quality fuel and cryogenic support to the global airlift mission, ensuring timely service for all assigned C-130, as well as a variety of transient aircraft and ground support vehicles and equipment.
The squadron also provides airlift support for the movement of cargo, mail and passengers to support various U.S. military operations, as well as providing airlift support of worldwide humanitarian efforts, exercises, contingencies and emergencies. The squadron has successfully maintained a fleet of government vehicles at a 95 percent mission capable rate and dispensed over five million gallons of aviation fuel.
