Operations. Combat in ETO, 15 Oct 1943-25 Apr 1945. Federalized and placed on active duty as part of the Korean War call-up, 2 Mar 1951-31 Dec 1952, but remained at Memphis Mun Airport. Realigned as strategic transport unit under Military Air Transport Service, (MATS) providing worldwide transport with operations to Europe, Japan, South America, Australia and South Vietnam. Performed numerous humanitarian missions as well as routine support to Military Airlift Command (MAC). Provided tactical airlift before reverting back to worldwide airlift.
