100th OPERATIONS GROUP (USAFE)

Lineage. Established as 100 Operations Group, and activated, on 1 Feb 1992.

Assignments. 100 Air Refueling Wing, 1 Feb 1992-.

Operational Components. Squadrons: 351 Air Refueling: 30 Mar 1992-. Detachments: Det 1, RAF Fairford, England: 30 Apr 1992-. Det 1, Spadeadam, England: 19 Jul 1996-1 Oct 2000.

Stations. RAF Mildenhall, England, 1 Feb 1992-.

Aircraft. KC-135, 1992-.

Operations. On 1 Feb 1992, the 100th Operations Group assumed responsibility for flying elements of the 100th Air Refueling Wing at RAF Mildenhall where it deployed aircraft for and managed the European Tanker Task Force, a rotational force that provided air refueling to US and NATO aircraft in the European Theater until it ended in 1998. Beginning in 1998, it received an increase in primary aircraft assigned. From that time, it provided all air refueling for US and NATO forces engaged in contingency operations, exercises, and aircraft movements into and through the European Theater, including Operations DENY FLIGHT and ALLIED FORCE over the former Yugoslavia. Supported deployed aircraft for humanitarian and contingency operations in Africa, such as RESTORE HOPE; and Southwest Asia, including Operations PROVIDE COMFORT, NORTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM.
