8th EXPEDITIONARY AIR MOBILITY SQUADRON (AMC)

Lineage.  Constituted as 8 Air Cargo Resupply Squadron on 14 Sep 1944.  Activated on 24 Sep 1944.  Inactivated on 15 Mar 1946.  Redesignated as 8 Military Airlift Support Squadron (Mobile Enroute), and activated, on 3 May 1966.  Organized in the Reserve on 1 Jul 1966.  Inactivated on 1 Jul 1973.  Redesignated as 8 Expeditionary Air Mobility Support Squadron, and converted to provisional status, on 19 Nov 1998.  Activated on 1 Dec 1998.  Redesignated as 8 Expeditionary Air Mobility Squadron on 15 Mar 2001.
