Lineage. Constituted 353 Special Operations Support Squadron on 21 Sep 1992. Activated on 1 Oct 1992. Redesignated: 353 Operations Support Squadron on 15 Jan 1994; 353 Special Operations Support Squadron on 1 Aug 2010.

Operations. Contains and operates the logistics and operations planning support functions for the entire group maintaining all of the communications assets assigned to the 353rd SOW and contains the intelligence function for the group. In contingency operations and wartime actions, the SOSS becomes the group commander’s combat staff.
