11th AIRLIFT SQUADRON

Lineage. Constituted 11th Air Corps Ferrying Squadron on 18 Feb 1942. Activated on 16 Apr 1942. Redesignated 11th Ferrying Squadron on 12 May 1943. Disbanded on 1 Apr 1944. Reconstituted, and consolidated (19 Sep 1985) with the 11th Aeromedical Transport Squadron, Light, which was constituted on 18 Oct 1956. Activated on 8 Nov 1956. Redesignated: 11th Aeromedical Transport Squadron on 25 Jul 1964; 11th Aeromedical Airlift Squadron on 12 Jan 1966; 11th Airlift Squadron on 1 Oct 1993.

Middle West Sector, Domestic Wing, AAF Ferrying Command (later, 5th Ferrying Group), 16 Apr 1942-1 Apr 1944. 1st Aeromedical Transport Group, 8 Nov 1956; 1405th Aeromedical Transport Wing, 8 Jun 1964; 375th Aeromedical Airlift (later, 375th Military Airlift) Wing, 12 Jan 1966; 375th Operations Group, 1 Dec 1991-.

Stations. Hensley Field, TX, 16 Apr 1942; Love Field, TX, 8 Sep 1942-1 Apr 1944. Scott AFB, IL, 8 Nov 1956-.

Aircraft. Unkn, 1942-1944. C-131, 1956-1970; C-118, 1956-1970; C-9, 1968-.

Operations. Ferried aircraft to modification centers and tactical units mostly within CONUS, Apr 1942-Mar 1944. Aeromedical airlift from 1956, including transport of wounded Afghan soldiers and civilians, 1986-1987.
