Lineage.    Constituted as 10 Bombardment Squadron (Heavy) on 22 Dec 1939.  Activated on 1 Feb 1940.  Redesignated as: 10 Bombardment Squadron (Medium) on 7 May 1942; 10 Bombardment Squadron, Medium, on 21 Sep 1943.  Inactivated on 17 Jun 1944.  Redesignated as 10 Bombardment Squadron, Light, on 11 Mar 1947.  Activated in the Reserve on 18 Jun 1947. Inactivated on 27 Jun 1949.  Redesignated as 10 Bombardment Squadron, Medium, on 7 Jun 1955.  Activated on 1 Sep 1955.  Discontinued, and inactivated, on 25 Jun 1961.  Redesignated as 10 Strategic Missile Squadron (ICBM-Minuteman), and activated, on 2 Aug 1961.  Organized on 1 Dec 1961.  Redesignated as 10 Missile Squadron on 1 Sep 1991.
