Lineage.  Organized as the 107 Aero Squadron on 27 August 1917. Redesignated 801 Aero Squadron on 1 February 1918. Demobilized 18 March 1919. Reconstituted  and consolidated (1936) with 107 Observations Squadron  which having been allotted to NG, was activated on 7 May 1926. Ordered to active service 15 October 1940. Redesignated 107 Observation Squadron (Light) on 13 Jan 1942; 107 Observations Squadron  on 4 Jul 1942; 107 Reconnaissance Squadron (Fighter) on 31 May 1943; 107 Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron on 13 Nov 1943. Inactivated 9 Nov 1945. Redesignated 107 Bombardment Squadron (Light) and allocated to ANG on 24 May 1946.  107 Bombardment Squadron (Light) extended federal recognition on 26 Sep 1946. Redesignated 107 Fighter Squadron (Jet) on 1 July 1950; 107 Fighter-Bomber Squadron on 1 November 1952; 107 Fighter Interceptor Squadron on 1 July 1955; 107 Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron on 12 April 1958; 107 Tactical Fighter Squadron on 1 July 1972; 107 Fighter Squadron on 15 March 1992-.
